SERU FAQ's

Anyone who applied for a new PHV driver's licence on or after 1 April 2023 is required to take and pass both the English language speaking and listening test and SERU assessment before they can be licensed and that is for all drivers new or existing so every has to pass the SERU assessment.

SERU assessment is computer based and it is delivered by TfL staff in the examination hall, exam time limit is 45 minutes but make sure you reached at least 15 minutes before the exam given time and The speaking and listening test consists of a 15-20 minute conversation.

The SERU assessment consist of 37 questions, with Multiple choice questions and completing sentences by adding the missing words, & 2 reading and understanding questions. And also keep in mind the passing score minimum requirement is 60%.

The TfL SERU test cost £36 when taken for the first time and £16 for a re-sit.
